Rotobrush Duct Sealing & Repair: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide

If your Rotobrush air duct sealing system has a failed seal, cracked gasket, or worn brush assembly, we stock Rotobrush-compatible replacement parts and install them for most Las Vegas homes for $185 to $420, depending on the specific component and your system’s age. A technician can usually diagnose and replace the failed part the same day, since our trucks carry the most common Rotobrush wear items and seal kits. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a cleaning pass that leaves debris behind, a brush that wobbles or stalls, or a seal that’s no longer holding negative pressure at the duct wall.

We’re an independent service provider, not a Rotobrush authorized dealer, but we’ve worked with Rotobrush equipment long enough to know which parts fail first, which aftermarket equivalents hold up, and which ones you should never substitute.

Which Rotobrush Models This Applies To

Most Rotobrush duct cleaning systems use the same core wearing components across the AiR+RX, BRx, and eBx series: the shaft seal, the brush cartridge, the exhaust gasket, and the vacuum plenum seal. If your system is one of the older BR or R2 series models, the seal dimensions are slightly different, and that’s where we see the most ordering mistakes. The model number is stamped on the metal plate near the motor housing, up by where the hose attaches.

One compatibility gotcha we run into often in Las Vegas: the shaft seal wears differently depending on how much drywall dust and fine desert silt has been pulled through the system. Homes out in Summerlin and the western valley produce a finer, more abrasive dust than older central neighborhoods, and that grit chews up seals faster than the manufacturer’s average lifespan estimate. For Rotobrush systems, we generally recommend the OEM shaft seal because the aftermarket versions we’ve tested don’t hold the same tolerance under negative pressure. Brush cartridges, however, have quality aftermarket equivalents that save money without sacrificing cleaning power. We’ll tell you which is which, in plain terms, before we order anything.

Signs Your Rotobrush Duct Sealing & Repair Is Failing

  • Loss of suction at the hose tip. When the vacuum plenum seal or exhaust gasket starts to go, you’ll feel it immediately: the hose doesn’t grab your palm the way it used to. Debris stays in the duct because the system can’t maintain negative pressure at the wall.
  • The brush stalls or vibrates on straight runs. A worn shaft seal lets debris bind the rotation, which makes the brush chatter against the duct instead of spinning cleanly. This is the most common complaint we hear before a repair call.
  • Fine dust blowing back into the room. If the exhaust gasket is cracked, contaminants that should be trapped in the filtration canister escape into the living space. In Las Vegas, this dust is often sand-fine and shows up as a gritty film on furniture within a day of a cleaning pass.
  • Whining sound from the motor housing. That’s usually the shaft seal gone dry, letting the shaft spin off-center. The noise gets worse under load, and ignoring it shortens the motor’s life significantly.
  • Debris left in the duct after a full pass. If you can see visible buildup right after cleaning, the brush cartridge is worn past its useful life, or the plenum seal is leaking and preventing proper extraction. Either way, it’s a replaceable part, not a new machine.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we charge to repair Rotobrush duct sealing and brush components in Las Vegas, parts and labor included:

  • Shaft seal replacement: $185 – $260, depending on model series
  • Brush cartridge replacement: $95 – $180, OEM or aftermarket at your choice
  • Exhaust gasket replacement: $120 – $210
  • Vacuum plenum seal replacement: $140 – $240
  • Full seal kit, all four wear points: $320 – $420

The spread comes down to model series and whether we’re installing OEM or quality aftermarket parts. You get a written price before any work starts, and that price is the price: no door-step revisions, no “discovered damage” add-ons. If we find something else wrong mid-repair, we call you first and you decide before we touch it. Our work on Rotobrush components carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if a seal we replaced fails within a year of the repair, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s the Kingswell Guarantee, and we’ve applied it to every job since 2004.

DIY or Call Us?

The Rotobrush shaft seal sits near the motor and the brush assembly spins at high speed under load. If you’re not familiar with the system’s tension points and how the seal seats against the shaft, it’s easy to install it slightly off-angle, which will destroy the new seal within weeks and can score the shaft itself, turning a $200 repair into a much bigger one. We don’t recommend opening the motor housing unless you’ve done it before.

What you can safely do is clean the brush cartridge after each job with compressed air, check the exhaust gasket for visible cracks, and listen for that whining sound under load. If you notice any of the symptoms above, call us at (725) 210-0612 and we’ll diagnose it on the phone, then bring the right part on the first visit. Most Rotobrush repairs we handle in one trip.
